This past weekend marked round #2 of the GNNC series! This was a brand new track located in Sparta Georgia named the Cannonball! Upon arrival to the track Friday around lunch we begin walking the course. Overall, the course was very open and fast. Passing was limited in most sections. It was mostly dry and I knew dust would be a factor in some of the field sections and dirt roads. Overall the 9 mile course looked to be fun! When the green flag dropped Saturday morning, my Renegade fired quickly and I went into the woods 3rd. I quickly charged and was in the lead by the 2 mile marker. My excitement got the best of me and a couple of small mistakes early knocked me back to 4th. I kept a consistent pace throughout the race and by the checkered flag I pulled off a 5th place finish. Overall I gained some valuable championship points and I have something to work for at the next round! The next race is in 3 weeks in Morganton, NC at the Steele Creek campground. This is my home race track and I plan on putting in a solid race. Thanks for everyone’s support and continued prayers!
