This past weekend marked the 5th round of the Gncc series at an all new track for the series. The Camp Coker Gncc was an excellent facility and the location was very nice! We arrived around lunch time Friday and begin the track walk. The course was much better than I expected. The trails were fresh and mostly sandy. We also had an mx track and several field sections for a total of a 10 mile track. Saturday morning, when the green flag dropped my Renegade got an excellent jump and pulled me through for my first holeshot of the season. I had a great first lap, everything was clicking perfect and I had a 20 second lead over 2nd. I knew I had to conserve some energy on the next lap. Two fellow can-am team mates caught me and made a pass. I checked in 3rd place going into my 3rd lap. Halfway through the 3rd lap, I caught a rock and was ejected from my quad. It took me a minute or so to get going again. I put my head down and was charging hard to get back up front. I lost 2 positions and was in 5th now. The last lap was going great and I made up considerable time on 4th place until my quad started running rough. I could only manage 25-30 mph at most out of it. I pushed it to the end and still managed 5th place in class and 7th overall out of 200+ racers. Overall the weekend went well, and we made good progress with machine setup. I’m already looking forward to the next round on May 14th in Springville, Indiana! Thanks for everyone’s continued prayers and support!
