Season Wrap

Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship  |  September 14, 2016

It’s been a long, hot and sometimes gruelling summer at the outdoor nationals. Now that the season has wrapped up it’s time for our athletes to reflect on their year and project where things are headed next. We checked in with a few of them to find out their thoughts on how their outdoor season went.

“My season didn’t go as I wanted it to had lots of ups and downs throughout the season. Wish things would have went my way a little more but I had fun lots of fun and it was a new experience for me. I can’t wait for Supercross to start!”

Season highlight: None of my results really stood out to me do to poor starts witch is my fault, but the one race I felt the best was the last moto at ironman came from 20 seconds behind the last guy do to a crash and pushed my way to 19th that was the best I rode all year!

Favourite track on the circuit: My favorite track had to be Ironman due to all the rain it was muddy and became super rutty and it suited my style the best.

What have you been up to since things wrapped up? I’ve been at home hanging out relaxing doing nothing really. I did a little riding class on Friday. Other than that, enjoying the break.

What’s the next plan for you going into the off-season? I’ll be heading back to ClubMX the first week of October to start working towards Supercross.

Your list of sponsors you wish to thank: The whole outdoor season wouldn’t have been possible without Chase Kadlec the owner of Trigger Racing. “My season went pretty great. I had several top 15s and was on the edge of getting top 10s so it was pretty awesome!”

Season highlight: Getting 12th in 3 of my motos on a completely bone stock KTM 450.

Favourite track on the circuit: That’s a tough one, either Budds Creek, south wick, or RedBud!

What have you been up to since things wrapped up? I did the MXGP of Americas in Charlotte NC. That went ok. I went 19-19 there.

What’s the next plan for you going into the off-season? Just try and get everything organized and ready for SX.

“This season as a whole started very rough but I feel like for how long I was injured, I made a solid comeback for the cards I was dealt with. I pushed myself mentally further than I normally had to, so I’m happy about that!”

Season highlight: A highlight for me had to be the fact that my cruising speed in Motos were around 16th area. And my sprint speed was definitely top 10 so that was a good highlight for me just knowing that I can be a top guy next year as long as I stay healthy and get working hard.

Favourite track on the circuit: My favorite track has to be Unadilla. That track has had so many gnarly guys ride there and so much history made there. A very cool place to race in my opinion.

What have you been up to since things wrapped up? Since the season has wrapped up I’ve just been hanging out with the team and having some team bonding time. I’ve been having some fun because this off-season is going to be a tough one!

What’s the next plan for you going into the off-season? In the works for the off-season we are going to have really good bikes for 2017. In a couple of weeks, I’m heading back to PA to start testing the bikes and get comfortable for supercross. Just putting my head down and getting ready for the 2017 season.

“The season was pretty good. I had some really good motos and some that I really would like to forget.”

Season highlight: The highlight would definitely be getting 19th the last Moto at Ironman.

Favourite track on the circuit: I’d have to say Ironman.

What have you been up to since things wrapped up? I’ve still been riding and racing local races. We have the Soaring Eagle Edge of Summer race this weekend so that’s been the main focus.

What’s the next plan for you going into the off-season? For the off-season, I’ll just keep working and try to get a plan together for either Arenacross or Supercross.

Your list of sponsors you wish to thank: I’d like to thank Full Throttle Motorsport,  MCR Suspension, FXR, FMF, Rekluse, Wiseco, EVS, Spy, Next Level Graphics and Design, Dunlop, Valley MX, RK Excel, and my Mom and Dad.

“Looking back 2016 has been my best season so far! Qualifying for 3 out of the last 4 pro nationals I tried was awesome! I ended up tearing some ligaments near the end of the season so unfortunately had to miss the last 2 rounds.”

Season highlight: My highlight of the season would probably be qualifying for RedBud. It has always been a dream of mine to race against the best in the world in front of all my family and friends.

Favourite track on the circuit: My favourite track on the series would have to be Millville. I’m from Michigan so I love the sand rollers and the overall layout of the track. Southwick is a close second though!

What have you been up to since things wrapped up? I have just been trying to heal my ankle up. I’ve been off the bike since Unadilla and still struggling to heal up. As everyone knows it just takes time which isn’t fun.

What’s the next plan for you going into the off-season? I’m actually graduating with my bachelors degree in business this off season, but I will be training hard to get ready for next season!

Your list of sponsors you wish to thank: I would first like to thank FXR (awesome gear), PLB Lending, Speed Technologies, Bentley GFX, Mika Metals, DT1 Air Filters, Dunlop, EKS brand, Championship Powersports and anyone else who I forgot. Thanks!

Shatrau_CN9A2065

“This season was great. I did a couple pro nationals here in the states (Southwick and Unadilla) and in Canada (both Quebec rounds).”

Season highlight: It’s been since 2012 that I’ve raced any nationals, so it was awesome to get back out there to mix it up with them!

Favourite track on the circuit: My favourite nationals were Dechambault in Quebec and Southwick MX338 Massachusetts.

What have you been up to since things wrapped up? After I was done with the rounds I choose to run this year, I went back to racing local races every weekend just like I was doing before the rounds I did.

What’s the next plan for you going into the off-season? For the off season I am just trying to stay in shape. Going to the gym and trying to get seat time whenever and where ever possible. I will be training as much as possible. I plan on running quite a few more rounds in the states and Canada for the 2017 season.

Your list of sponsors you wish to thank: I would like to thank the following for all of the support FXR Racing, Cato MX Track, Shatrau Racing, MotoOption Clothing, Factory Connection, and Rental.
